I have a copy of this record and it looks very much like this one (far as i can tell)... green label, UK press, 1971 etc. Here's the deal though - I got it for like $3 and I'm skeptical it's a re-ish. Can someone hook me up with the info on how to tell the diff? Much appreciated. web page

  • The UK press is on Atlantic.

  • Yeah, it's got the Atlantic label - looks exactly like the one on link. I just wanna make sure it's not a bootleg if I were to flip it.

  • Don't know if there's a boot floating around, sorry...

  • all good man, i certainly do appreciate the effort.

Wait - the UK single of this goes for over $100?

I know some dollarbin stuff is more valuable in the UK
press, but WOW. I thought you were asking about the LP.

My copy is UK but instead of green and orange, it's blue and orange...

i didnt even know there was a 12". that must be pumping up tha bidz.

why do so many sellers have those impossible to read descriptions with 200 colors and huge fonts, and a useful info to excessive terms ratio of 1:100? do they not know that stuff looks bad and is confusing to the casual viewer?

Recordmania charges about $150-200 for this. The exchange rate is playing into that too, of course.

    Ha - I played myself again, I thought it was a small-hole UK 7".

I guess the 12" on the label would have been a tip, huh?

I don't see a playing time - is it an extended edit?

    Gents
the serious money is paid for the 12'' of Funky Nassau by Ray Munnings on Tammi
    So so good....

  • I didn't realize there was a 12" of this either. Must have come out later on, eh? Not at all surprising that it would command three figures.

It's all about the "Jump in the Water" flipside. Funky Nassua is boogie gravy on the 12.

there's a soundclip of the Munnings 12 on ebay right now
that's about average to slightly low for this piece
I believe the Tammi issue is UK only
It's quite a lot different from the Beginning version

Fool that I am paid top rate ??200 ($400) for it last year....
