Looking at their "finds" threads makes one feel kinda pittyful. Are these people in Estland, in Romania or in Serbia? I guess one weekend on the fleamarkets in any of those places would result in more and better records than what those toys post under "Pics of your colletcion".

Things are smooth... another few riots in Guinea but we left for the big anual Voodoo celebration in Benin and didn't really get affected too much besides my wife having to escape a rockthrowing mob with her SUV, her co-worker had her windshield smashed.... Today I'm wasting my time away at the hotel's internet computer here in Cotonou, trying to outride a severe rum hang-over. Besides a few two-three day breaks, I've been constantly on the road for the past 6 weeks and really look forward to getting home to Conakry on Tuesday. Found some great records though. Participated in some crazy Voodoo rituals, everybody was so high on Gin and Sodabi that after a while, they gave us full permission to film and take pictures of whatever and whoever was around... insane shit, I'll post some stuff next week or so. Had to kill a chicken only by holding it to the floor in front of a Voodoo figure and repeating the same words in Fon over and over...
I'd love to come to Amsterdam. Maybe this summer. We're going to move tyo NYC in July and I'll probably stop over in Berlin before or after to get my records out of storage and have them shipped to the US... why not make a little vacation out of it?

the book stalled, had some dude contact me but he was shady so i decided to throw it up on a blog, im getting around 1000 views a month and people are spending time reading not just clicking and leaving so im hoping for a word of mouth thing to elevate it... who knows, i just like telling the stories to be honest.
have another rum for me, i just brought a couple bottles of scotch, a lovely 20% offer at the local bottleshop so i splashed out on a cask strength 16 year Glenlivet and a 10 year Arran.
