I thought I had a sore throat yesterday. Then I thought I had strep today, but I didn't decide to do anything about it until around 4 pm. I left work and went to see a doctor. They couldn't squeeze me in at my primary care physician, so I went to Patient First and when the strep test came back negative the doctor checked me out and diagnosed me with a Submandibular Inflammation.I had pointed out the swollen gland to my primary care physician last year and she said it was a blockage in my salivary gland but if it wasn't causing any pain and went away, not to do worry about it.It would come back from time to time but this time I wasn't feeling right and like I said, it felt like I had a sore throat... difficulty swallowing. So, hopefully I can get a referral from my doctor's office --eventhough my doctor is off tomorrow-- and I can see the specialist (Ear Nose Throat doc) tomorrow. It looks like I may be having surgery on it... hopefully out-patient.anyone had a similar experience or relative with a similar experience?...is there a doctor in the house? nurse?can I maybe get a damn "Beuller" graemlin?

we will forever call you fat neck now. haha... does anyone else get the humor here or just me? cellulitis... in his neck. nevermind...

anyway, its a fairly common procedure. ive seen patients come in for surgery (mostly a draining of the fat tissue). its most definitely an outpt procedure. it WILL prevent you from smoking for a while.

hope that all works out for you cuz...

so I got some good news today! no surgery!!
the multiple stones my ENT specialist thought he felt didn't show up on the CT scan and weren't present today at my follow-up. He thinks the big stone that came out naturally overnight last week (yes, weird... candy corn look and size) dilated the pore so the others came out naturally as well.
he just wants me to continue to suck on sour candy, drink lots of fluids and push on the small lump (yes, gross... build-up of saliva?) in my neck towards the mouth for the next 2 months. TMI?

anyways, jinx has already volunteered to rub my neck, so fall in line.

now, more importantly. when can i smoke? doesn't vaporizing still cause cottonmouth? same with brownies... don't they dry out the mouth too?

  • Glad you didn't need the surgery my man.

I didn't forget bout the 12. It's coming your way.
