torrent program for Mac

i feel like this has been asked before, but i didn't see it in a search...just post the link if you got it...can anyone recommend a torrent program for Mac?my co-worker said to try Miro, but I wanted to see if anyone here had any experiences with something they'd recommend.thanks

    Azureus works fine, from my experience. Make sure you use the Safepeer plugin, at least.

    ok, now what should I use to handle FLAC files???

    When i stumble across torrent links i want to download i use azureus...However can someone explain to me how you search for shit on torrents. I so don't understand this shit?

    Transmission

    I think this is the best mac torrent app I've tried so far. Azureus has a lot of nifty features, but IMO it's unecessarily heavy on your computer's system resources, probably because it was written in Java. Too sluggish for me. Transmission is simple and does the job.

    Transmission or DIE! Azureus is a big resource hogging piece of bloatware. And to top it off, it's not even that robust.

    Here's a hint dudes, steer clear of apps coded in Java.

    Transmission is so light and thin, I even have it installed on my Nokia N800 linux handheld tablet.

    FYI, there's some pretty slick greasemonkey scripts for Firefox that will customize Pirate bay. In fact, here's the torrent: http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3611356/Customize_PirateBay_(FireFox_GreaseMonkey_script)

    I could go on and on, but I'll spare you the drama.

    I have completely uninstalled iTunes and replaced it with VLC.

    pretty sure I use VLC for video at home. can it convert the FLAC's to AIFF or MP3?

    VLC doesn't convert anything. There aren't that many good audio conversion apps for the mac unfortunately.

    I also use Transmission. I don't get very high speeds, but i'm alright with that. The patience makes me stronger.

    And I use VLC for all my watching needs. it's the only program that seems to play almost any video file formats. It's great.
