Hey,There are some rap artists I've bought over the years primarily for the beats. I was curious which artists you'd like better if the vocals were erased from the LP/CD. For me it would be:-Lords of the Underground (never liked them as MCs).-Souls of Mischief (they wear on me after a while, voices/styles-related).-The Pharcyde (to an extent, especially Imani).-Artifacts (a little, I never liked them as MCs, but the beats ).-Group Home (at least, erase Malachi's vocals).-The Beastie Boys (from "Ill Communication" onward their vocals became filler).-Originoo Gun Clappaz (O.G.C.; I only liked Starang Wondah as an MC).Peace,Big Stacks from Kakalak

  • Most of the emcess Dj Premier produced tracks for IMHO.

    Afu-ra

  • that ohmega watts "watts happening" comes with an extra disc that is all instrumentals of the vocal album, I think instrumental version is much better because most the vocals sound like clutter over his production.

I wish these dudes had instramental versions of The Platform and Expansion Team.

Sometimes they tend to babble a bit when it comes to the mic.

i don't think i've ever heard anyone complain about Q-Tip or CL. ATCQ and Pete & CL are two groups i compare other MCs too. they're up on a pedestal in my mind. what MCs are you into then?

Listen to cats and rough rats war under the window
When the ghetto forts flarey, never was a tom and jerry
Livin aint cheap, my survival is deep
In this part of town where the city never sleep
A barney miller roller, you can bet the cars stolen
Or static with your bm, only when you see them
Speakin on your babys mom, a best for the drama
Always tryin to make a movie, little stark-ravin looney
Stressin it, but you know the ghetto keep ya busy
A place that when I die it would never even miss me
Crack phials in the aisles as one pimp smiles
Dope piles workin hookers by the miles
But still my pops got three jobs to stable
A family household and food on the table
So as we pray for all our souls to keep
Somebodys on the project roof, ready to leap
I want to stop the pain or the bad situation
But backwards wisdom I cant afford to give em
Self savior is much braver with the conscious behavior
Designed in the ghettos of the mind[/b]

    or

Here comes the rugged one, plus the way I flip it
I collect the loot and then I knock the boots
A smooth dark lover, prefer to be called the chocolate lover
cause I can do wonders under cover
    Im dip-dip-dope, I rhyme like riz-ope
I cleanse like soap, cause its the great black hope
Stay away from the penile, I can rock the senile
Hons alway wave cause Im slick like lunile
Pete rock on the boot knock, on the boot knock
Plus the way that I flow...blood clot
Yo, my styles cock-diesel and I can do the hustle
Niggaz know the time, I dont have to flex a muscle
Im not the type to fake it, I wouldnt try to take it
Tie your girl to the back of my jeep butt-naked
Slide her monkey ass down the hill
So if you dont want beef, money, chill for petes sake[/b]

i don't know. tip or phife never really impressed me as rappers.

as for cl, back in the day he was alright. but now i just can't stand the styles he flipped. that goes for the majority of rappers who flipped the same style in the early 90's. and after hearing soul survivor, i thought that p.r. is the better rapper of the two.

anyways, this is just one man's opinion.

while i'm at it i might as well add stunts blunts & hip hop

So u reach fot the dub version of this album over the vocal version?

    Day three...

    I wake up after 8, a shower, then I take a shower
See a tip from last night still left in the tray
Some stick of boom music cause I found a fat L
Nine times out of ten I used to start this way
Then I study jewels and gems instead of Christianity hymns
Then walk past him to see my man Marco Polo who works in sports stuff
Your two shirts that's tough, a baldie that's rough
Call up the Gods, slide to three main places
We know a lot of faces so the romp game came work
Do you think that I'm a jerk because on my face there's a smirk?
Used to party to party rock from body to body
But my nightly smokes are spent on the cool down low
Rolling up dough and doing mad shows
Not dealing with hoes because AIDS is a bitch
In the nightime I get rich because kids pump the tape
Uptown Bronx from the porch to the fire escape, and you don't stop
So to my prehistoric days and dinosaur phase
I was completely energized using Islamic rays
I'm the royal highness, so clear your sinus
Put your trust in the plus and conceal the minus
Your head's unravelling, my force is of a javelin
Your tounge is in a knot and you're babbling on
To the pre test is the God human?
Come from the darkness to where I'm looming
The hardest working man, ever I see a land
I got the power to devour what MC's withstan [/b]
