Anyone else see this?Caught a free screening last night, was notsure what to expect. I liked it, but was leftfeeling a little dirty from it. So many ugly and unlikeable characters. Ethan Hawke's Hank is sucha spineless mensch he's almost unwatchable.THE GOOD: crazy dysfunctional family plotTHE BAD: pretty lifeless directing/phtographyThe UGLY: PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN NAKED SEX SCENE I was not disappointed by Marisa Tomei's nakedness, though. She can't help but raise the question, "are those real?" ANYONE?

like full frontal?
No, we are thankfully spared the sight of his LBJ.
But the opening scene is an extended doggy-style sex
act between him and Marisa Tomei where he watches himself
in a mirror ... I was not prepared ... we see everything but ...
Dear god.
Sometimes in life, we must trade some good for some bad.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
Isn't Lumet well over 80 anyway? Good to see him still at it, no matter what.
Yeah, didn't know it was him until the closing credits came up.
I would have imagined it was a hot-shot young director, with the
stylish touches but kind of wooden pacing and flat lighting, etc.
I admit I was impressed by the name. Ever notice how big directors, when
they get in their 70's & 80's, start shooting big naked sex scenes and crazy
violence and shit? Like Hitchcock and the Italians and so forth.
DIRTY OLD MEN, GOTTA LOVE IT.
How old is Marisa Tomei, anyway? Cause she had some shape going on.
scenes of raw, unbridled emotional outburst ...
many characters in the film have these huge, weeping
breakdowns on screen, howling and showing a depth of
despair not typically seen in film. It could get very
uncomfortable to watch, but we have all seen (or been!)
people having this type of breakdown, and know how very
realistic they were, hard to watch or not.
