78 RPM APPRECIATION

when you see these little players, pick them up. you need one to really appreciate 78s. anything that was recorded during the 78 era is usually better on 78. the only problem is that they break real easy.this one was $75 from a flea market in richmond.this one was was $80 from a junk store in petersburgi don't have a lot of great stuff in this book form. they are nice.i also love the old brown paper bag sleeves,

  • Ive been tempted to pick up 78s in some of the thrift stores, but my 1200 only has 33 and 45..

    stanton generally sucks, but i bought their top end tt 3 years ago. it's actually a solid deck with alot of nice features. i'd like to put a technics tone arm on it though. they play 78s if you push both 33 and 45 together.

    another thing, if you are digging somewhere and there's a crowd of foaming crustards acting like starving hyenas, you can always step off and fuck with the 78s. there's heat. i've found crazy r&b/blues shit tucked in bing crosby books
