I picked up the Whatmusic.com reissue of this last week and am really enjoying it.For those who not know: Jacques Pelzer (Sax, flute) and his daughter Micheline (drums) were, together with cousin Steve Houben, the founders of Open Sky Unit. A year after the OSU recording, they performed live at the Huy jazz festival with a quartet (Jacques & Micheline Pelzer, Alby Culaz & Michel Graillier) in Belgium, where this recording originates from. This record is less straight-up funky than OSU (all the songwriting on OSU was done by keys player Ron Wilson, who's not on this record), but is a deep and beautiful jazz record with some funky parts. It has a beautiful cover of Coltrane's Naima on it.Anybody here also enjoying this?
