and checking Bobby Valentino and 112 albums is an improvement?
Really disappointing record. I don't know, I guess Puff was on some cheap shit with the production.
Straight Outta A-Town, their tape with DJ Drama, was much better.
Puffy didn't really have anything to do with that one besides put the Badboy South logo on it and--I assume--put up some of the money.
All four of those guys were already established in Atlanta, and Puff wasn't even the person whose idea it was to put them together into a supergroup.
Edan - Beauty & The Beat
Quas - The Further Adventures
Mall & Dre - The US Open
More will come to mind I'm sure...
Beret - Arco-iris (jappy jap vocals over great brazilian production)
Joe Bataan - Call My Name (hasn't lost one bit of soul in his vocal delivery)
Elektro4 - Keystroke One (what rjd2 tries but fails miserably. BRAZING PSYCH DOWNTEMPO)
Silhouette Brown - s/t (Dego of 4 hero & Kaidi of Bugz together, a good combination)
Breakthrough - s/t (if you like dj mitsu, this is very similar)
the faith album is pretty good too, considering I had zero expectations. Otherwise it's been a slow year for lps, especially in rock.
I heart Aser's musical tastes.
I just peeped some of the Joe Bataan today and I was really impressed by it. I'm just waiting for the Groove Merchant to have some copies.
word on the Silhouette Brown. I think it's kinda getting slept on because it's getting shelved in the "broken beat" section so new-soul dj's arent' checking for it.
I need to check that Breakthrough, I think Groveman Sport did a remix and I really dug the Martian Gang 12'' he did.
anyone know if Sever MSK did that album cover? looks like it.
Joe Bataan brought it on this one..."I'm the fool" is no joke.
Bloc Party
Jamie Lidell
QOTSA
Major Swellings aka Prins Thomas
Well I was gonna pick it up too because I got "Ma Look No Hands". But I was kinda nervous about it. Is it worth it??
