I Met this girl randomly

we barely know each other, we chatted for 5 hrs about hip-hop, what she do for a living, her family and other things. We drank beer, we laughed and we went for dessert.After dessert I only thanked her for her company and let it went by. I spent the rest of the weekend regretting that...Am I an idiot ?

    i got her contact, but she's 800 miles away now.

    she was here for 5 days and we met the day before she took off.

    plus she's got man back home.

    ah don't sweat that man - it's always the last day that things like that happen but shti works itself out, regardless of 800 or even 8000 miles. carry on shooting the shit over whatever contact means you have (i mean phone, email or whatever) and see where it goes. maybe nowhere, maybe a great friendship and a place to crash if you're in that area, at least

    No, you did what felt right for you and the circumstance. Sounds like you have things in common and like speaking with each other - unless you are only interested in getting her into bed - it sounds like you can still have some sort of friendship.

    thanks everyone for the words.

    i think i'll just keep it as a good memory.

    friendship with someone you had feelings with is hard to keep, not to mention long distance.

    perhaps once in a while a small catch-up email, but otherwise, i think i should move on.

    that's probably for the best man, although a retained friendship could always become something else later down the line when circumstances change
