How about the first gen of Everlasting Gobstobbers? Before they introduced the weaksauce ones they have now that are an insult to the concept of "jawbreakers."
And big up Lemonheads, Alexander the Grape and the questionable Cherry Clan.
Questionable Cherry Clan? Those were awesome.
I'm not talking about them as candy, I meant the image on the box.

Yeah, and Cherry "Clan" is actually the later, more-PC version ... when I was a kid, they were called "Cherry Chan" - which is why the image on the package was a pseudo-Charlie-Chan.

Word - I totally remember that now. I used to cop those small boxes for something like a nickel (or maybe it was a quarter) at the store down the street from where I used to live in 5th grade.
I used to cop Laffy Taffy for a hot minute but man, those were just murder on your teeth. Same goes for the big Jolly Rancher bars. To this day, I don't know who the hell really enjoyed eating those.
The things I used to LOVE that were HELL on my teeth were "Chewy Sweet Tarts" ... 3 to a pack, each one 5x the diameter and thickness of a regular sweet tart, they weren't really "chewy" - at least, not until you had worked them over with your teeth for a half-hour. They were hellish in many ways, but I loved (and still love) sour candy more than anything, so I was hooked on them.

I always thought the dimensions on those were weird as hell, but as far as candy goes?
WORD THE F*CK UP. Loved those. The only problem was, you only got one "puff" of powdered sugar, so you had to wait for the moment of maximum coolness to do the do. Where's the tobacco-themed candy these days? Can't a man get some faux-Skoal and get his Type-2 diabetes on in peace?
Candy cigs are still around. I bought a few packs recently.
Bonkers had that ad campaign where fruit fell from the sky and hit people, bonking them I guess. My friends and I used to play the Bonkers game and we would run around on the grass and yell "Bonkers" and then fall down as if fruit had come down from the sky.
I was always about the powder sugar candies. I loved fun dip, sweet tarts, gobstoppers, runts, smarties, and those weird round poweder sugar balls with the slight ring around them that you could get in the 25 cent machines.
Their min. order is around $20.00, I could never justify spending that much on candy for myself. I really want some Freshen-Up Gum....anyone remember those...the gel filled gum, I wish they still made Dr. Pepper and 7up flavors.
I just found some of this at the Pic-n-Sav this weekend:
I love those Sweet tarts that SOI and Spanky were talking about....It think they had 4 to a pack tho:
They got all the goods:
oh and these still cant be faded:
I think this year I might make an order and put together a 80's Gift Bag for all my co-workers for x-mas gifts. I can order a whole box of freshen up gum and dont have to worry about my teeth falling out because I will be sharing it. Plus I wont have to worry about leaving anyone out and nostalgia is cheap.
Comments
or these...
I could never cosign on Nerds. Way too sweet. Finishing a box was like punishment.
I tried that Quench stuff that's out there and it's just awful.
Yes, I suppose that might have been offensive.
hahahahaha
These little hardened candy turds were my shit.
BTW, Big League Chew + braces = I started calling it Big League Glue after that.

Never tried it, can I buy some deadstock on Ebay?

haha, yeah I remember quoting those lines when making a plea for mom to buy it.
"see mom, its good for you!"

Bonkers had the ad game on lock(on tv and comic books especially)
Brining back vividly memories of middle school vendor lines!
Let's not forget the OG classic. Still eat these dentists' nightmare from time to time.
I still get cravings for these:
Nasty bits of what feels like hardened bits of petroleum jelly. Fugg that.
I'll see your Swedish fish and re-up with some Chinese crack.

I don't know about that site but I have been looking to place an order from this site for a few years:
