Anyone know anything about security cameras? I need something that allows me to monitor a location online. Preferably something that allows me to move the camera.

yeah, you can get a camera that you can hook up to a dvr that has it's on IP address that allows you to network it or monitor the dvr through IE. You can control the camera also but things can get costly depending on how fancy of a camera or dvr you want and the wire run.

http://www.northernvideo.com/ has a bunch of links to manufactures if you want to get info. Arm electronics makes some cheap dome cameras that give a decent picture. Also http://www.pelco.com/ has a gang of cameras also, price varies but we put these all over the university.

http://www.supercircuits.com/ better catalog than website but they got deals too

you might want to call some places up and just have then put together an estimate on a system for you. Just let them know what your trying to do and if your going for cheap or top of the line.

Yo if you are on a mac there are some cool programs that utilize the built in camera (maybe on PC too but I don't know). ialertu uses a motion sensor to take pics and/or video and then sends it to your email. You can also attach as many external cameras as you want. Another good one is called evocam. Mac only though as far as i know.

    Check out http://www.smarthome.com/

They have a wide range of security products. I think getting into the PanTiltoom cameras gets considerably more expensive though. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish you might be able to cover more area with multiple cameras cheaper. I setup a system many years ago like that with a cable TV modulator that ran into a TV tuner card. I would remote desktop to the computer and switch channels on the TV tuner card to view each camera. I was a cheap and easy solution at the time and may work for you also.
