I know this sh*t is ridiculous but my boy (a house DJ) and i refuse to concede so i'm begging record dudes to settle it for us....would you call this song disco or electro/freestyle?Freeez - IOU

    Freestyle is the pop version of Electrofunk I would say.

    To me "Let The Music Play" by Shannon was always Electro, till someone schooled me and told me that this is Freestyle.

    So whatever it is, it is no Disco !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Freeez came straight out of the jazz funk scene and I have a great guitar-led live version of this song without the keytar. I guess this is freestyle - not quite electro and definitely not disco. Personally, I'd just call it 80's dance.

    Being that Freeez were from the Uk, I dont think it can be called freestyle, as freestyle was a Latino thing.

    I always considered it new-wave/electro-pop, in the same vein as Yaz "Don't Go". As someone else mentioned, Freestyle to me is Latino with female vocals (generally), not males (however femme the vocals are) from the UK.

    No shit. I had to get my girlfriend to come in the room and see the video to show her that as well. We both were fooled.
