SIXTOO[/b]If you followed the 'underground' Hip-Hop movement in North America during the late 90s, you probably have seen Sixtoo's name on a couple of records, and you most likely saw him on stage ripping it at many shows around that time.But it wasn't until his move to Montreal that he appeared on Ninja Tune's radar. His first release on the label, Chewing On Glass & Other Miracle Cures, found him using live musicians for source material in addition to the tried and true method of mining old vinyl for samples. On his latest album, Jackals and Vipers In Envy of Man, he's gone even further outside what's considered traditional in terms of Hip-Hop production by piecing together two years worth of live performances, giving those songs new arrangements, and filtering everything down through his MPC.NEW 10 from 1:[/b] 
DAMU DA FUDGEMUNK[/b]A D.C.-based newcomer, Damu the Fudgmunk, recently teamed up with MC/producer Insight to form the group Y Society. Having only met face to face twice, it was when Damu produced a beat tape crafted specifically for Insight that the foundation for Y Society was laid. "I saw his potential. He studies and takes the time to understand," explains Insight. Damu is not an entirely fresh newbie to the Hip-Hop game as he made his initial mark as the DJ for the Rawkus/Glow-In-The-Dark duo, Panacea. And his live MPC productions on Youtube garnered a resounding response from the web community, getting tens of thousands of views. And though Insight's production abilities are fully capable, Damu takes on the role of sole producer which frees Insight up to focus on rhymes alone.NEW MIX:[/b] 
CIRCLE RESEARCH[/b]Take two hip hop aficionados that live, eat, and breathe music, mix with equal parts talent and drive to push the sound to the next level, and you get Circle Research. Astro the Guillotine and Nix the Finger Prince embarked on their mission to spread Hip-Hop love many, many moons ago when practicing scratches and beat juggling for their high school breakdancing crew. Obsessive about classic Hip-Hop, jazz, funk, soul, and all fusions in between, the duo began throwing parties around Toronto in 1992. Armed with six turntables, a slew of emcees, and enough wax to keep the party bumping for days on end, Circle Research caught the attention of Hip-Hop heads all over the city. Soon enough they were playing shows with legendary Toronto crews like the Oddities, Cryptic Souls, the Quartertones, Abs and Fase, and DJ Serious, and getting busy onstage with Jungle Brothers, Del, Dan the Automator, Rahzel, Casual, and Aceyalone, among others.NEW REVIEWS:[/b]
