Bahnmi: Nickys, 2nd St/Ave A (although I am sure a head raeler than myself can recommend something in Chinatown)
I am somewhat disconnected with the Pho real; someone else can surely recommend a spot.
Not sure if this is lengua en mejilla.
He said he liked it the most when you'd touch him behind the ears, at the nape even.
Ah, NYC in September... romance is in the
airinternet!Hudson just at W 10th st.
yoooooooo - this is waaaaaaay too good for mexican food in NY. The queso flameado with the chorizo????? telling you - this will shock you. really really good. mad small though, and be prepared to wait a little for a table.
REAL TALK
I watched this place grow from a little spot down the street, to a larger joint on my corner, to now expanded twice to hold down nearly the whole block. Cheap and good, this pretty big time food network chef i used to work for said its best Vietnamese in NYC, and its < $20 a person...
+
there are some ok viet spots on the same side of 1st the next block north
(not fancy & cheap)
Also - Rosa Mexicano, Baby Bo's, and The Alamo.
and while it's not trad Mex but more Spanish with a heavy mexican influence - La Esquina is pretty ill too. The atmosphere and sorta Spies Like Us entrance are way fresh.
Who's got the better tongue dish - Mexico or Vietnam?
And who's got the sweetest cheeks?

Whole thing kind of reminds me of the Reeses peanut butter cup commercials, two flavors coming together on some "WHOOPS, lookee here we got some VietnaMexicannnyCups".
