if you like noise-rock/experimental rock, I'd recommend this show... Thank You is one of the more interesting bands to follow up on what This Heat was doing, all three bands have a bit of a Krautrock influence.

WZT Hearts (Album Release!) Thank You, Microkingdom @ Talking Head

"Threads Rope Spell Making Your Bones" is Wzt Hearts' second full
length of improvised electronic psych-rock. In preparing the album,
the band recorded hours of music and whittled it down to present you
with the creme de la creme. At times reminiscent of the digital
sparkle of European sound sculptors like Fennesz, but also harking
back to the energy of Krautrock and its psychedelic progeny, Wzt
Hearts have created their own unique sound that blends the organic
and synthetic, digital and analog, difficult and easy, and other
musical dichotomies yet to be defined."

    WZT HEARTS
    THANK YOU
    MICROKINGDOM (Marc from OXES)

    This is happening Friday...

If you haven't heard of Celebration, they are my vote for the best live band in the country right now. Their record on 4AD got a mixed reception, but live they are beasts.

  • is that sat shit gonna be wack or should roll to it and the noise/kkraut rock show? I'm already planning on hitting the rock ish

I dunno how Dudley Perkins will be live. I 100% vouch for Celebration. Their show is dark but high energy and their drummer is incredibly tight and Afrobeat influenced. Also, if you want a peak into the Bmore warehouse scene, that is your show. It will be packed wall to wall with sweaty freaks.

he's keeping a lo pro, saw him last month
    maybe worth a ding

    so

i'll have the mid-TN show all to myself ??!!??

Anyone else go to the Celebration/Dudley Perkins show at the Floristree warehouse or the Thank You/Wzt Hearts/Microkingdom show at the Talking Head? I had a great time at both.

I didn't see this post until I got home - how was the show??? I haven't been to one of them in-town shows in like a year. P###'s the only cat who has ish most of the time anyway.

I also was so wiped out I didn't make it to any of the jump offs in B-more, but I did run into a band to bicycle-riding honeys who helped me navigate the one-way streets of the city at 1am.
