...69 songs.
Unless theyre including his production for other cats, he doesnt have 69 best songs.
He doesn't even have 5 best songs. Best thing this fool ever did was fuck 15 year old girls on tape...
i admit..i liked your bodys calling...and he made 2 classy joints, happy people and step in the name of love. since those...go away kells.
side note...why is it that every r&b singer from the usa has to be super polished squeeky clean ?
why are there no more male soul singers sounding like teddy pendergrass...d-train,billy paul, or the singer from the trammps ? after watching a few episodes of the new making the band, they can pipe, but they all sound the same.
Of course Kells has 69 greatest hits... Trapped In The Closet already accounts for 22 of them!
Really excited for this. THE MARVIN GAYE OF OUR GENERATION
REAL TALK !
Gay Record Execs.
Couldn't have said it better myself...
No more soul in soul music... another sign of the impending apocalypse?
Yup.
Im not gonna co-sine that stupidity. But im a certified fan of Robert and im cant see 69 songs.
So it's a blank CD, then?
(Oh, c'mon...somebody had to make that joke!)
Mofos are stuck in the past. There's plenty of Sangers in the game.
Of course there are if you're willing to compromise your own criteria for what's good and choose to forget the great artists who tried to pave the way for the unfortunate void in popular music today. I for one, am not willing to do that. So I stick by original statement.
Carry on then..
So your looking for Soul in "popular music"? No wonder your lost. And certain people just dont have the skills to detect where the traditions are kept in tact by modern artists. Or Older cats who are still putting out albums, but if u knew about that u wouldnt be stuck on Teddy Pendergrass.
I do, however remain open to checking out new artists. They ALL SOUND THE SAME to me. If you dig it, cool.
Yeah, please do so I can get some work done.
is that you in the avatar? I thought only preme put his own self in his avatar.
Cool. I just think sweeping statements like those isnt accurate.
R/Kelly has happened to make some real Soul songs on his last 3 albums. Old school style joints. You Made Me Love You from Chocolate Factory. There's a gang of Old sounding songs on the rest of the Happy People Album. If Fact the whole album is in that mode, despite the fact that he was doin a st8 up "Steppers' album.
And I wont even mention Howard Hewitt,Kem,Natalie Cole, and the rest of them who are still making albums.
Sheeeeit...Anita Baker is still at it.
No productions-- all Kells, all the time.

Indeed it is I. Don't I look pretty?
(this is the part where someone does something predictable like reply with "yeah... pretty stupid" or something of the sort.)
Yeah, I hear ya, bruh. I dig Hewitt and Anita Baker, never liked Natalie Cole...
Sure, R. Kelly's done some interesting things but IMO hardly deserving of the amount of adulation and credit. That whole in the closet shit is pure comedy, not even musical....
it's just bad
To be fair, I haven't heard the album you're referring to.
There maybe 7 songs that are suspect, but damn that's what i would have put on there.
And they still dont have his Aaliyah/IsleyBros/Sparkle/Maxwell/ output on there.
And no Gotham City (Remix)......
