I purchased an m-audio interface and tried to install the m-powered pro tools demo but every time i go to launch it, a message comes up saying i have to reasatrt my macbook pro then when i restart it it says the os quit unexpectedly. How are you guys recording mixes out there? Are thier any free programs available that are good for recording?I'm talking multi track. -N

I use Peak to record. I don't do any multitrack stuff though.

No. Try to debug your m-powered system, it's probably a quick fix and you have a perfectly good system that should work. Delete preferences, go to the Digidesign user conference Digidesign User Conference

and search for your particular problem under the M-powered heading and/or post your problem. people usually get back to you quickly...and you don't have to buy something new.

Yes I've used Audacity and I think it works great.
I'm no pro, but it serves my needs quite well.
    Give it a shot.

on Audacity for recording mixes, its basic, but its free & easy to use; multitrack & chop up / edit your files, add effects etc, not a problem.
