Give the People What They Want (sealed) - The Kinks
This was such a big record for me growing up as a pre-teen. In fact I bought it at the Army PX in Panama while visiting my grandmother there for a month when I was 11 years old. Destroyer was a bigtime aracade/skating rink jam in New Orleans where I lived. Predictable was a favorite video among the older artsy, soccer-playing dudes in my neighborhood. Then there's Around the Dial and Killer's Eyes...I'm gonna have to listen to this album ASAP.

Just to clarify, it was Keem-O-Sabe, the "A" side of that single, that charted at #16 in 1969. Just sayin'.
Picked up the new 12" of Richie Havens version of "Going Back to My Roots" with a Danny Krivit edit. I'd actually never heard his original version of the song, only some house mix that is basically the original with heavier drums. Song is ill. Krivit mix is tight, too. Also got a promo copy of Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik on vinyl.
I recently copped the Richie Havens LP and i am really liking his version always loved the Lamont Dozier version and still the best version in my opinion. I played the Havens version yesterday at a gig i had on the beach..and it got a good response from the crowd. didn't hear the Danny Krivit edit yet..

How is the rest of that LP? I feel like hearing this song on the beach is pretty appropriate. Krivit edit takes the piano out which had me confused for a minute, but it works. Lots of percussion and swirling vocal jabs. It's nice
