Yeah, they play different types of jazz dpending on what time you listen to this station (Hard bop, Big Band, etc.) I like listening to this station during the week around 1 to 4 in the morning, at this time they play stuff like Gil Scott, Meters, etc.) Also every Saturday night they play a lot of Soul Jazz like Andy Bey, Gary Bartz, Horace Silver, even some James Brown. Matter of fact it's on now!
What are the call letters? Maybe they have streaming. Probably not. I'm in L.A. but I don't have a radio. I was listening to KPFK last night. It was cool. A lot of local, politicalish hip-hop.
Yeah KKJZ or "K-Jazz" usually plays great stuff in the evenings. Check out their live playlists and archived ones, too. That station puts me on to a lot of funky jazz. The mellow Bobby Hutcherson steez as well.
