Get this. It??s amazing. It??s on a label called "Babylon Budget", and it??s a Chalpin production, so there??s a lot of material that has been on numerous other records he put out (Get out of my life woman, Sugar pie, Honey bunch etc), but on the last side there??s three long, spacey ultragritty jams with the most ridiculous breaks ever on them. Sound is rugged but still a lot nicer compared to other posthumous Hendrix releases.
Have you heard the "Experience" OST? On Ember?

Wie geht??s Gropeskiiiiii?

thanks dude. yeah i have some of the other hendrix shit, that version of GOOMLW but the version i have has studio drums OVER the song, that were added later, very very gritty nice open drums on there. these other tracks you speak of sound incredible, i gotta hear this shit.
I just checked the album out further. The liner notes are insane! I think Chalpin himself wrote them, he keeps going on about how he and Jimi were the originators of psychedelic rock, how they were best buddies, how they ushered in the "the new era", completely sweeping the blood-sucking exploitation bit under the carpet.
What a jerk.
I??ll hook up some mp3s.

Oh, and there??s an entire album done like this on MFP. Ray charles covers for days.

please do!
Here??s a track from Side 4 of the Guitar Giants LP for the rest of you to enjoy!
1. "Knock Yourself Out"

For a while I was intent on collecting every single budget LP of his, but then I noticed it's basically the same set of songs just released over and over, sometimes changing the names as well! and I gave up. Here'a s whole mess of reviews, mostly of those knock off Hendrix albums.
The releases on Astan, which I think was out of Germany, might have the best sound quality, but there also ones with liner notes that actually try to explain what's what.
