Way Back....So I was just listening to Wattstax and I hear the aforementioned phrase on the intro to "Son Of Shaft". Now I know its also on Jimmy Castor bunch and has been used on many beats and mixes, my question is given that they sound pretty similar, I'm wondering if they are both referencing something earlier, or something else in popular culture going down around 1972, which is when discogs says they both came out. Whos got the goods on this?

    bar-kays were referencing jimmy c., as far as i know. castor's semi-skit intro to troglodyte started things i think, he was very creative with a wild imagination. plus that was a quite popular track even on normal AM radio back then.
