The New Mastersounds - Give Me A Minute (Pt. 2)
The Bamboos - The Bamboos Theme

that's all i got so far!

You got to play the classic stuff for the b-boys (i.e. "i know you got soul", "champ", etc.)...But as far as newer stuff...the c side off of Controller7's "expansions" EP on bully kills it everytime and I haven't played it yet, but Joey Beats "spikes for the punch bowl" off his "diverse recourse" album seems like it would work quite well!

What BPM range are you looking for? And it's not from this year, but DJ Format - English Lesson and English Lesson Remix are both ridiculous break tracks. Might I also mention DJ Day - What Planet What Station and Gone Bad? I think I might.

  • mordecaimordecai 2,204 Posts
    definitely on the Day stuff.
i like stuff in the 120+ realm. could certainly use more in the 130-150.
the Prao B & Boogie B sounds pretty good...might work. cheers

oh yeh, I've got DJ Format - You Hear That? and I know English Lesson...but I don't know where I have it.

I spin some b-boy battles/events. Of the new stuff, the one "must get" release is Breakout's cover of Planet Rock on Melting Pot records. It's absurd. Get two copies. The original is on a 45 and there is also a remix on 12".

    Here's info.

Also on Melting Pot, Sygaire and Defcon's We Did Dat Thang is a break heavy monster.

cosine to gamm. my new school b-boy fav for the past few months is the new Speedometer LP. Red Astaire/Freddy Cruger has some dope cuts.

Dr. Delay gets it done as well.

directly from a bboy, the hot new joints for 07 are budos band - back from down south and looping the horn part of boobie knight - lovomaniacs. oh yeah 90s rap is always in too. and i will see you at seven deadly cities, i am entered under "team rocket." looking forward to hearing you spin.

To be honest man, I'm not feeling most of your selections for the Bboys. Cause I'mma Bboy, and If I heard that Mark Ronson joint, I'd probably want to leave.
