A line at the mall where Ro didn't show up to an autograph signing on Friday...Gerald G and DJ Hella Yella...Lil O...Dougie D...Z-Ro the Crooked...Some dude from Screwshop's tracklisting...Mo City Don FreestyleStruggling To ChangeI'm A GangstaWhen It Get GangstaI Miss My DawgM-16It's Gonna Be AlrightBud SackNo GamesSo MuchNigga From Tha HoodFrom The SouthNo More PainI Hate U BitchOne DeepStill Livin'Homie, Lover, FriendThe show was packed, with over a thousand crammed into the back patio of Spiro's. Hella Yella was killing it with the song selection. This Texas shit is way deeper than many in Texas even realize...meaning that a song like Big Moe's "Man" (or "Barre Baby" for that matter) still gets way more love than any of this stuff that's been on the radio the past couple of years. Lil O did his usual cool set, with "Back Back Back" being the big highlight. Dougie D's first song, which incidentally made the crowd love the hell out of him, sounded just like vintage Project Blowed material to me. Then Z-Ro finally came on at about 1:45 and completely brought down the house. Ro is such an amazing live mc with his voice sounding even clearer than it does on his recordings. He had all these hard-knocks doing sing-alongs like it was some sort of church for the dispossessed. Seriously, rap-wise Z-Ro is the best thing going, and if you haven't realized that yet you are really mssing out.

oh shit. that's my little brother standing behind zro.
Great to know that he's now "off lock" as well.
And for good measure, FUCK WILLIAMSON COUNTY!!!
Is there any news on Gerald G doing a full length? Still bumping that mixtape.
As for Z-Ro, I love Let the Truth Be Told, thought I'm Still Livin had its moments and wasn't particularly enamoured with Power (mainly down to production more than anything else). As a dedicated carpetbagguer I would like to hear some of his earlier work. Is The Life of Joseph W. McVey the best place to start?
Not that I've heard of so far...
Have you already gotten ahold of Rapid Ric's Z-Ro's Greatest Verses mix?
If not, here's the link...

Proper album-wise, Z-Ro vs. the World and King of da Ghetto are commonly known as his best. But Life of Joseph McVeigh is also a good one.
And FYI you're not a carpetbaggeur until you do some punk tourist shit.
Ah, cheers for the knowledge Harvey. I knew about the Rapid Ric/Bun B mixtape but not the Z-Ro - will be ordering it shortly.
Believe me, it's an epidemic...
sorry i had to say somethin
What shit was garbage?
I was hanging out with Gerald last night. He said that he's just about done with his album. Problem is though, that it's going to be released on Rapid Ric's Dew Music label and they're already dragging their feet quite a bit on releasing the Whut It Dew Family album. Therefore even Gerald is already figuring that his album won't come out until next year.
In the meantime, Gerald's all over Ric's new AftaDaRelays2K7 mix...
YESSSS!!!! let's get this thread started....
I dunno but I always dug J-Ro's flow.
For reals, I gots more skills than an occupation center
I got your ho cookin my dinner
Action, lights and cameras ain't needed
Indeed it's, the nigga that be gettin rappers heated
I'm J-Ro, and my style is darker than a mole
My rhyme is so hot you got to stop drop and roll
All the Liks releases, become masterpieces
Oh jeezus, my style is slick like pork greases
The sound quality on the video is indeed horrible.
The sound quality at the concert was top notch.
Somehow I don't think you're referring to sound quality though.
Have you ever heard a recorded Z-Ro song before, like maybe "From the South"?
Do you even like rap in general?
Me too...
dudes always killed it with the sports rapps.
anyone remember "Liquid Sports" on LA radio?
what station was that on.......?
fuck yeah!
The Ro pimped the flow like a hoe, so I should rap on the mack-raphone
My rhymes hittin hard enough to crack a bone
I divide square MC's like math
Bend you in half and drink a Genuine Draft
I stop him, then I skied out with all wampum
When he's layin on the ground, I let my Dog Scrilla chop him
(Switch reels) I feels its all about skills
The outcome's unbelievable like Tyson/Holyfield
Your lyrics are loaners return em to they rightful owners
My style is wild, like G's or the pistolas
No need to ask, I put you on like a ski mask
We can Fight the Power like this was P.E. class
I Bomb Squads like Hank Shock
Peace to my nigga Scott puttin stickers on the block
*burp* I drink more Brewsters than Punky
It's the further adventures of the hip-hop drunkies
i can ride for z-ro. thank you harvey canal.
sorry duke but this didnt help your boy's cause in changin my opinion.
if it floats your boat, then by all means, listen away
i say the shit sucks
The song wasn't posted to change your opinion. Apparently you didn't listen to the lyrics...
try this out for a trae song he's featured on (only thing i could find on youtube quickly)
The verses on One Deep were indeed thrown over a new instrumental while Ro was in jail, and they came from Trae's No Help which is the video you coincidentally posted.
The singing on One Deep though...
Certain folks would probably be really sad to know that a whole lotta lotta kids now associate the Paid in Full beat with Ro rather than Rakim.
