Dope!
Pure niceness and .
the cut of Barnabas Collins sounds
like Lone Ranger from this lp on GG's
Enjoying this mix.
Thanks for posting .
Yup same lp but my pressing is on Thrill Seekers.
This is the craziest Jamaican cover ever.
I've seen where Jamaican sleeves are recycled detergent boxes
turned inside out and printed on, but this takes the cake.
This pressing has two pieces of paper glued over another sleeve.
You can see some of the printing through the new pasted on parts.
This was originally a DJ comp called "DJ Specials" with tunes
like "Slipe Pen Road Rock" by Dillinger and "Miss Wire Waist" by Jah Woosh.
I'm on the hunt for that one now, it looks mighty tighty.
Is that "DJ Spots" on the Valdene label out of UK? If so, I wouldn't rate it as high as a lot of other stuff.
Find this one:

Nope "DJ Specials"...
And the one you recommended is a good one, I have another one in that series.
Topshelf stuff, I love me some Bunny Lee production!
Yeah, Jamaicans had that recycling thing down way before
the rest of the world. I remember hearing a story of how
old time records were melted down and used to press new records.
Don't know when or if it happened but that's shit right there.
Would explain why it's so hard to find Pre reggae Jamaican music.
I found a crazy US major label 45 press of "Uptown Top Ranking"
a little while back - it's somewhere in my stacks, I think
it's on Arista ... it was just mindblowing to find one of the
best JA songs ever in the middle of a bunch of Eddie Money 45's,
looking like an Eddie Money 45 on that 70's Arista label ...
As for the Althea and Donna, the album was on Virgin - I found it in amongst a shit load of house records being sold off by an old Sydney Dj - it was the only reggae thing there ..
the States, for the Big Tree label.
I would assume Sire had a distro deal with Virgin, mainly
leasing the "new wave" acts from Virgin, as was their main
style at the time, but would pick up other stuff like reggae
if it had potential, which "Uptown Top Ranking" certainly did.
I think you mean IPOD COLLIE...

Thanks again for the love folks.
I'm glad everyone was able to download it, transfer it etc.
Sometimes these technical issues fuck with me!
I was hoping to hear if Pay Czech dug it....
Not trying to swing off his nuts or anything but dudes up on
his reggae.
Oh me oh my, I finally listened to it this morning and it's about to get played heavy all weekend. This is my shit right here, and an instant classic in the library. Thanks so much.
He just stepped out for some cigarettes.
I am listening to your sound effects and all like the Joker "Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
He likes it, he really really likes it...
Thanks again to all.
I'm glad people are diggin the effects, I thought maybe I went a bit overboard with them.
I need to work out some lower fi jammies for the next one since I'm going
way back the late 60's-early 70's jernts.
who missed it.
