Does anyone know of a good history of capoeira online? It has to be online because I need it for tomorrow. (My university didn't have the book I was looking for)

No I don't, but if I'm not mistaken, it was invented around the same time as the hackysack, the backpack, and the bong.

I had to do this for a report before, and hit a brickwall on the internet. Most of the more comprehensive resources are in portugese.

That post can be interpreted as a diss towards the rich cultural history of capoeira, or follish faux-capoeira posers with mangy dreadlocks. Everyone's free to decide.

Something about the "This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards" made me think twice about it.

The one good google scholar link I found was to a book telling about the widespread misconceptions in the story of Capoeira history, so I figured I would check in here to see if anyone knew of any respectable sources.

Sorry you got some of the soulstrut smartass crew off & popping ready to bash any question that can be covered by internet browsing.

Good luck with the research, I don't know any so called "credible" offical resources.
