For those that love (real) rockI grew up in a void of rock music. I was so unfamiliar with rock that the first time I heard "Back In Black" I thought someone had made a remix of a BDP track. That was then, this is nowshow some love for Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams, Phil Rudd, and Bon Scott

SOUL STRIPPER
bon is a freak
also the videos for 'let there be rock' and 'jailbreak' are hysterical. i can't hate, they're fun
in my rah-rah "let's go get 'em" mood I was in days after 9/11 - that was the first record I played at my weekly jumpoff in Brooklyn.
I was so happy the day I found the Aussie "TNT" LP...I now have all the records in their down under OG form...yeeuhh! (I dont have the "Can I sit next to you" 45 with the original singer, Dave Evans, however...can a aussie strutter help a dude out?)
this is well worth seeking out as well...promo only steez...I found my copy mint with their first Atlanitc press release inside of it!
great to spin out because during the intro of "Live Wire" this voiceover dude says "heres AC/DC!"
I thoroughly enjoyed this album as a youngin', and will still ride for it.
Beyond Run DMC, LL Cool J, and the Beastie Boys...Exhibit A:
I've tried to "rediscover" this album recently. Not bad, but Love is the shit.
Yep, Love and IMO Dreamtime as well....plus 12" b-sides from that era like Sea and Sky and Little Face.
Electric > Love
on Rubin's production alone
This was supposed to be accompanied by this photo:
Batmon. Everything up to BIB is worth checking, particularly Highway 2 Hell and Dirty Deeds.
"Aphrodisiac Jacket" is my shit.
I will refrain on hatting
you sound black
'Tis understandishable. It's very cerebral.
Yeah, you do, because the true vocalist of AC/DC
was dead in the ground when that album was recorded.
Don't get me wrong, "Back in Black" is classic material,
and "Shoot to Thrill" is one of the top tunes they ever
recorded - but Brian Johnson is maybe 1/10 the frontman
that Bon Scott was.
So, yes, you at least "NEED" the Jailbreak '74 record, if
only because it's an EP so you can take it in a quick, easy
dose. But, personally, the one AC/DC album I would keep is
"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" ... despite the inclusion of
the only-funny-when-you're-eight novelty "Big Balls," it contains
the superior version of their best track ever, "Problem Child" ...
and the title track is the "hit" that best captures their humorous
brand of nihlism matched with a truly face-shredding groove.
"For Those About to Rock" is like, a guilty pleasure. It's fun,
but at that point they were writing songs to match the lightshow
they were debuting on that year's tour, ya know?
