Ok, so I know that the average dude in the hood looks up to the pimp and drug dealer and thats what they aspire to be a true "Hustler". So who does the hipster look up to? What is their aspiration and what are they trying to be?

was.
but then again what I think a hipsteris and what you think a hipster is will not be the same.
I'm usually right though so I'm going to stick with Lennon
I didnt think that Hipsters wore sandals.
Am I wrong?
Or just ?
Just a guess.
tragic.
Scarves and tight black jeans are a must. And fanny packs?
I want to be just like all the different people
I have no further interest in being the same,
because I have seen difference all around,
and now I know that that's what I want
I don't want to blend in and be indistinguishable,
I want to be a part of the different crowd,
and assert my individuality along with the others
who are different like me
I don't want to be identical to anyone or anything
I don't even want to be identical to myself
I want to look in the mirror and wonder,
"who is that person? I've never seen that person before;
I've never seen anyone like that before."
I want to call into question thevery idea that
identity can be attached
I want a floating, shifting, ever changing persona:
Invisibility and obscurity,
detachment from the ego and all of it's pursuits.
Unity is useless
Comformity is competitive and divisive and leads only to
stagnation and death.
If what I'm saying doesn't make any sense,
that's because sense can not be made
It's something that must be sensed
And I, for one, am incensed by all this complacency
Why oppose war only when there's a war?
Why defend the clinics only when they're attacked?
Why are we always reactive?
Let's activate something
Let's fuck shit up
Whatever happened to revolution for the hell of it?
Whatever happened to protesting nothing in particular, just
protesting cause it's Saturday and there's nothing else to do
if this douchebag/enema nozzle is the model that these asswipes look up to we are all doomed
dunno about that, but he definitely set off an unfortunate wave of (hirsute, unwashed) Republican chic in Baltimore a few years back -- which has thankfully subsided.
that said, I think he's an interesting and provocative personality at times.
i dunno'it matters less

THIS fucking dude again?!?!?!?
Can we, as a community not mention him for like, a day or something.
Seriously NO MORE Hipster threads!!!!
i was thinkin this very same thing the night my friends and i were initially denied entrance to a club because we were dressed too clean and color coordinated. the spot was lettin all types of badly dressed hipster folks in while explaining to me that we didnt belong there because we were too "hip hoppish". had me wondering who was starting the styles that eventually trickled down to the everyday hipster.
vincent gallo is a good dude. you cant front. hipster or not he gets a pass on my block.
But the true hipsteur is holier than thou, and will never admit to taking hipster cues from anyone. Unless they can then say it's "ironic".
i can't even comment on these things without being a complete dick.
I thought these hats were cool before coming cool. I don't own one though. Same goes for the beanie.
The hipsters look up to the starving artist around cheer. The local graff artist, or the latest art gallery owner. But fuck, I support that shitt too. I'm cool with hipsters, just get the fuck out the way, and move on with yourself, you'll be forgotten sooner or later.
