Help With Mac Recording

I'm running a midi applicatino on my macbook pro and am trying to record directly back into my laptop, to then later sample with the mp. I have the music programs Audacity, garage band, logic and reason (both logic and reason i havn't really messed with yet) Is there a way I can do this preferably with audacity or garge band being that i am most familiar with those. I know I ask a lot out of the strut, but sometimes I just don't know who to turn to.-n
