Contemplating buying tix to the KCRW's World Music Series for "Brainfreeze 3", Shadow and Chemist. Carlinhos Brown and Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars are also on the bill. Anybody familiar with Brown or Sierra Leone's? Does it make it a more worthwhile show, considering I'll be shelling out 40 dollas or so? Hmm...

    Carlinhos has some hits that will undoubtedly bring out a heavy Brazilian contingent who will undoubtedly be partying. RAS are mellow highlife/hiplife/reggae. I say go for it.

    "Refugee All-Stars" are playing here in Santa Cruz. So far the buzz I've heard is along the lines of, "Oh, that must mean Pras but not Wyclef..."

    There's a little confusion regarding that name, at least with folks I've talked to.
