how to clean dub plates (can you?)

can you clean dub plates? is it possible?also, anyone know how long they last? i got some recently from the 70's presumably and am curious to know if they should have 'expired'.thanks!RON

    just water, maybe a dab of soap, no alcohol

    I think you can clean them just be careful...

    cheers jonny! that's what i thought, but needed to confirm... got about 10 sitting here that have, for the most part, seen better days but would like to revive the killer music hidden on them!
