and 20 other rap records from this same time. all for $10.

Damnit, I never ever ever see that Main Source LP anywhere, and it goes for $50+ on the Bay.

Bought a box of 45s at the flea today, but they are almost all thrashed from an effing jukebox. Fuck them thangs. Did find a copy of Don Julian and the Larks - Low Rider Girl on 45 which is nice. And a cassette of The Click - Down and Dirty (Vallejo raps)

In case of gripper's regret on your part, should I holler?

Please note, I understand that the money is not an issue for you.

kinda a bust day...hit a few estate sales and the flea. One estate sale had a bunch of 45s but you had to buy them all AND buy the jukebox...

found of promo of Terry Reid "Super Lungs", gonna spin that one at the Jack Oblivian show tonight

    Emotions "Blind Alley"

Martha and the Vandellas "Quicksand/Darling, I Hum our Song"..an early one which is nice as I have been on a Martha and the Vandellas kick as of late

Jerry McCain "Love aint Nothin to Play With/She's Crazy About Entertainers" nice juke-joint soul blues

Georgie Fame "Say Yeah Yeah/Preach and Teach"

Sam Moore "Stop" promo... kinda , still havent heard a version that tops Howard's

but they were selling foot-long corn dogs at the flea and I was hungry

Pretty good day. The "tonia" track is some weird modern soul local thing. The "Bunker Hill" song will mix well with the Shirley Ellis and both will kill at our local soul night. But the amazing find was the Melissa Manchester...WTF?

Ha - somebody's been hanging out at In Your Ear ...

I sold Reid that Electras 45

I actually dug a few gems out of the 50 cent
boxes in the back of there last night ... don't
have them ready right now, but I'll post 'em up
soon - got this very cool (but rinked) funk 45 called
"Everybody's On a Trip" by Garden of Eden on French
    for fiddy cents.

Snap, I did get your PM but totally spaced. I'll get back
to you on that soon, having issues with my own show these
days but I can definitely get something special together for
the Fractures ... Electras is nice, it was a dupe ... yeah,
trading would be sweet, I am also planning on having my big
yard sale/swap again verrrry soon, like maybe the 1st weekend
of June - I'm going to put out feelers this week to see if people
will be down and around for it.

^^it never even occured to me that there could be a Down By Law soundtrack till i
saw it. top left is a Teac multitrack demo thing. the Enoch Light was noteworthy due
to a Shaft cover + hot pants

^^friend and lover is nice vanguard stuff. somehow this is the first ive ever seen
that stevie album. Ol paint has some interesting tracks. the bottom row is
disturbing paranoia monologues, very shady conspiracy theory stuff from the 60's.

    ^^ these are all good.

^^ these are all good too.

That 'Ol Paint has one absolute killer cut and is pretty good overall...

Mars Bonfire NEVER shows up here.

    Nice finds.

Couple sealed gospel joints for cheap, Dillinger
with Roots Radics brings the fire, Nice copy of
Blonde on Blonde for a decent price, got the Morning
Glory and Jackie McCauley from eBay - McCauley is an
ex-Them/Belfast Gypsies member, made an interesting
SSW album with some UK folk superstars helping out ...
Haven't had a copy of the Lakim Shabazz since maybe 1990,
that may be one of the best all-time albums as far as beats
go - sometimes I wish 45 King had cut a better rapper over them
but I still love that album. Also spent hours going through boxes
of 50 cent 45's, looked at endless trash but found a few gems, like
the 60's band The Knack on Capitol (not the 70's band, the Knack,
on Capitol ), Sister Gail Anderson on Roxbury, a NM
"I could Never Be President" by Johnnie Taylor, Garden of Eden
on French, etc - not bad for half a buck!

Wow, I bet they were each SEALED and had a price of, oh, I don't know, between $8.99 and S11.99, right?

sorry there, I didnt know weekend finds meant "post your raers you found or you get dissed". Im not offened because internet is not serious bizness but still because it said finds. I found them, they may be re-issues but I still found em and bought em. Lay off the hatterade dear chapstick.

    Ah hahahhahahhahahaahhahaha.

Oh, Lord. Clearly you are offended and that tickles me to no end.

If you bothered to read any threads of this nature, you would know that actual collectors get dissed in these all the time, so what makes a trendy Timmydigalot like you immune?

I think it's time you started your own forum, 'chapstick'. We'll meet you over there, we promise. TheMack you are not.

I used to feel this way and thought Shabazz sounded mad nerdy compared to real street rappers like LL and, er, Chuck, but I must have turned into some sort of weirdo coz I can listen to Pure RIghteousness on repeat now. Always thought the Fatback loop was one of the best ever samples though. That and the Lucky 7 one

PS: Karlophone: Buddy Fyte Shreds! Sort of!
