Yeah, so what. Everyone including Oprah is reading it. No matter- this book is a total skull melter, and beautifully written to boot. Bleak? Hell yes...Oh my god yes. But, gorgeous, and an incredible and unique way of looking at what is almost a normal father and son relationship (if you'd like to discuss that last thought, I would too, so we can do that, but I'll leave it there to entice conversation.)Either way...DON'T TO SLEEP...

  • How does it rank alongside other existentialist works, if you can compare the two.

I really like Beckett and Pinter. I'm reading Camus's "The Stranger" right now and it's pretty bad. Luckily it's pretty short so I'll be able to start "The Plague" soon.

  • Existentialism didn't much occur to me, in truth. I love me some Beckett, but this wasn't really like that.

Think post-apocalyptic western survivalist father & son love story. Just read it. Its 240 pages, and an extremely fast read.

  • Will do.
