The classics you liked in 1994 was stuff the influenced the music you were listening to. Thus you liked James Brown and Funkadelic and Funky Four.

Play the stuff that the current hits are quoting.

You could also play the BIGGEST classic hits of 1997. People always like the music they lost their virginity too. Most people didn't lose their virginity to criticschoiceundergroundclassics.

I've never djed. In fact I've never listened to popular music so maybe I'm all wrong.

Hey, I'm in my 30's and could do without ever
hearing "T.R.O.Y." in the club again. I still
like plenty of classic hip-hop, but there are
certain tracks that dudes seem to pull out and
have been pulling out for nearly 20 years, and
just need to be retired or at least played with
a little more discretion. I can't tell you how
many times I've heard DJ's go into the "old school
set" and it's like the same 10 songs everytime.

i stopped DJing in 2000 for that very sam reason...People used to call me the floor sweeper at the end of my "carerr"...Thy wanted Fugees, Bad Boy stuffs, and i was giving 'em Blackmoon and Diamond. They got pissed. I left. The same crowd is still thre listening to 50cent and Akon. Me, i peddle music on the side, like that ol' Lamont Dozier...

This is the 2007 equivalent of the 'classic rock' crowd
