JUST TO CLARIFY: I did know that the line about "boots" was in Slade's version, but going from memory (haven't played my copy of Slades in a while), I think that was a SPOKEN AD-LIB, not a LYRIC FROM THE SONG, in case I was misunderstood.

I don't think he's saying "do the FRUIT," I believe it's "do the FRUG" (popular 60's dance).
