Thank y'all for the lively discussion. While Torq seems to be more feature-rich and expandable, I am leaning towards Microwave because of the stability, support, and free software updates. M-Audio forces Rane to come up with a better product.
I've talked to other Microwave-rocking folks and I've been told that Microwave actually performs better if your library is on a separate hard drive. Anyone care to comment?
And Brian, why do you keep bringing up ableton? I don't see the relevance.
because you can dj with ableton? i think if you're going to get into vst stuff with torq, you might as well use a proper host with much more potential. if you just use torq like you would use Microwave, might as well get Microwave

How does this work? Can you set up a cue and have 40 songs linned up for the automix while you're drinking and meeting people?
