Show #43 - a round-the-globe tour with funky Brazillian tunes, smokin' Latin jams, European heat, and good old soul music. On the Brazillian front, don't miss Ed Lincoln's great 'Cochise', the Milton Banana Trio's swinging 'Sao Salvador', and another great Marcos Valle track 'Crickets Sing for Anamaria'. On the Latin side, be sure to check out the Afro Latin Soultet's 'Afro Breed' to hear some great latin jazz, and on the pop flip is Charlie Palmieri's version of 'Uptight'. Another undeniable highlight is Pedro Ruy Blas' flamenco jazz masterpiece 'El Jaleo'. All that plus Nicole Willis, Diana Ross, and Curtis Mayfield!     Show #44: Some funk, some latin, some groovy music... One of the great things in life is a double-sided 45, a single where both the A and B sides are solid pieces of music... this is celebrated in this week's show with Charlie Palmieri's 'Bugalu' (the flip to 'Uptight', played last week) and Kool and the Gang's 'Dujii' (the flip to the awesome 'Hollywood Swinging'). Other great tunes in this week's show include Lee Fields, the Mighty Imperials, James Brown, a funkified Sonny Bono (!), Serge Gainsbourg, Lee Gagnon and the Jeremie Soundtrack, solid jazz fusion with Tarika Blue, and great Gabonese musician Pierre Akendengue.
