I'm not sure if we already did this. I'm gonna ride for Hard To Earn. I'm expecting a lotta Daily Operations and Moment of Truths.

I think Guru needs more repect. His his super plain delivery was perfect for the Primo beats. He's like Lou Reed. That's right - Guru is Lou Reed to Premiers John Cale. Yeah- i said it.

True, but when u hear another mc(Finesse/B.I.G./Big L) over Primo's beats your realize the chasm of ability.

    Moment of Truth

  • Daily Operation. Second is Step In The Arena or I dunno. Hard to choose, easily could of made a greatest hits with nothing but bangers.

Hahaha Guru does go well over Premo beats but if you actually listen to him he is a wack MC. Also Group Home were real wack as well but that album is still dope.

Daily Operation's still one of my favourite rap albums ever.

  • Step In The Arena.

No question for me the above. A lot of the others to my ears now sound very pedestrian.

ok, i'll back pedal one rotation and say DO is definitely not pedestrian...
one of the best things on there is lildap and jeru's i'll tap your jaw shit. guru just gets kinda boring. the beats are always nice tho,but most of it is real sedate. "check the technique" was hyped the fuck up

youre going to shoot yourself in the head after listening to all those records.

you know what i like on "Ownerz"?
the interlude with the youngbol who goes bananas talking about drinking water from the stream with a gangster lean.

  • Jonny_PaycheckJonny_Paycheck 17,825 Posts
Yeah dude... "I'll tap your.... JAW, you probably heard it before..."

    That's my jam right there.

I have a grip of classic rapps to listen to this day, so I am in the mode to get it in. I also have Philadelphia Freeway, which I deem to be classic

I will report back at 1500 hours.

love the two, but i am leaning to MOT a little: Above the Clouds, Militia, Work, Steez, Rep Grows Bigger are such satisfying songs

(edit: that little red x is the Moment of Truth cover)

I like this album far more than the others.

I remember when DO dropped I was a little disappointed with Guru's rhymes and a few weeks latter read in an interview that he had purposely dumbed down. Not that he was ever a sylable cramming super scientifical dude (I don???t really dig that shit) but he certainly came a little different on DO.
