let me crack open this bottle of Myers...the Full Sail thread got my mustache tingling.where to start? anybody got a mix? There's a port on a western bayAnd it serves a hundred ships a dayLonely sailors pass the time awayAnd talk about their homesAnd there's a girl, in this harbor townAnd she works, laying whiskey downThey say "Brandy, fetch another round"She serves them whiskey and wineThe sailors say "Brandy, you're a fine girlWhat a good wife you would beYeah your eyes could steal a sailorFrom the sea."Brandy, wears a braided chainMade of finest silver from the north of SpainA locket, that bears the nameOf a man that Brandy lovedHe came, on a summer's dayBringing gifts, from far awayBut he made it clear, he couldn't stayNo harbor was his homeThe sailors said "Brandy, you're a fine girlWhat a good wife you would beBut my life, my lover, my ladyIs the sea."Yeah Brandy used to watch his eyes when he told his sailor's storyShe could feel the ocean fall and rise, she saw it's raging gloryBut he had always told the truth, Lord he was an honest manAnd Brandy does her best to understandAt night, when the bars close downBrandy walks through a silent townAnd loves a man, who's not aroundShe still can hear him say, she hears him say"Brandy, you're a fine girlWhat a good wife you would beBut my life, my lover, my ladyIs the sea""Brandy, you're a fine girlWhat a good wife you would beBut my life, my lover, my ladyIs the sea"

yo i use to have those glasses! didnt they give em away at burger king or somewhere?
morning people are hard to love!
How is the glass fish treating you? Just finished a bottle of Mayers lastnight. I was mixing it with the mango tango odowalla drink. Thinking about picking up a bottle of the Curzan Single Barrel this weekend. I have a crap load of yard work to do this weekend and it will require a lot of drinking. Only the finest rum will do.
Get on those Tamari ones too. And the Red Hot Blues.
I appreciate the loan--don't get me wrong--but that glass jernt makes me feel like a crackhead. I like rollin' anyhow. Myers is the topshelf at the liquor store by my house. Hood.
yeah but doesn't the aquatic nature of it enhance your yacht rock vibe.
Where is 'Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes'?
Seriously, these are the sounds I grew up on! Firefall! Crazy.
What's up Frank! I owe you a phone call....going up to Philly this weekend, but I really need to get down to Richmond.
Might you be referring to Jefferson Airplane/Starship's "With Your Love"?
Preview here.

Aw, hells yeah that's what it is! I shoulda knewed that schitt... sounds like fukkin' "Miracles". I probbly have that dam MPfree already. Thanks, holmes.
Here's some more marvelous schitt-
ELO- Evil Woman & Strange Magic

Bread (lots)
America - Tin Man, Nameless Horse, etc
Fleetwood Mac - I LOVE Stevie Nicks
Dave Loggins - Please Come To Boston
Ambrosia - these fools don't be playin'!
England Dan & John Fogerty - I only buy their albums for the brakes
Climax - Precious And Few
Ides Of March - Vehicle (I have like maybe 27 different versions of ths song from all over the world. Or maybe about 3. Something like that )
too many others... keep adding on so I can try to cop some stuff i'm missing
oh, and to those who were discussing doing an am gold night without irony? i think it might be the best idea of the young but aging 2007.
Albert Hammond on the first.
Hard to pull off on the second - I mean, where is the
non-ironic audience for this stuff? We all admit it here
on the internet, but a "night" of AM Gold would only succeed
if hipsters could dress up like Bob Welch in the "Sentimental
Lady" video and do coke off each other's canvas belts.
Phill... you catch the '81 49ers "America's Game."? There's a classic story of how the team got stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the Super Bowl in Detroit. To inspire his teammates, Joe Montana pumped Kenny Loggins "This is It" through a ghetto blaster non-stop. It was to the point where one of the trainers couldn't take it any more and wanted to shut that shit off but Bill Walsh overruled him.
Here are some more:
-"Court and Spark", "Blue", and "The Hissing of Summer Lawns"-Joni Mitchell.
-"So Far"-Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.
-"Red Octopus"-Jefferson Starship.
-"Summer Breeze"-Seals & Croft.
-"Mud Boy Slim" and "Sweet Baby James"-James Taylor.
-"Realization"-Johnny Rivers.
-"S/T"-The Beatles.
-"No Secrets"-Carly Simon.
-cosizzle on "Tapestry" (and all-time favorite).
-"If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears"-The Mamas and the Papas.
-"Insight Out"-The Association.
Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak
I'm surprised they even won the game after that. But then again, that probably did put them in the mood to kill, just having to endure hearing that schitt overandoverandoverandover...
Hey, I gotta give props on this little compilation... you jogged my memory good with a few of these. Sunshine, Sad Eyes, Reminiscing, You Are The Woman...
The thing I love about this kind of stuff is that I guess a lot of it is generally looked at as pop music, but listen to the lyrics on some of this schitt... it really ain't weak at all. A lot of the songwriting is pretty cotdamn strong, actually. I LOVE LITEROCK / AM GOLD
Shiiit, I've sang "Summer Breeze", "Horse with No Name", "Ride Like the Wind", "I Keep Forgettin'", "Sailing", "Black Water" along with "Tin Man", "Wichita Lineman", "Precious and Few", "Easy to Be Hard", "Dust in the Wind", and "We've Only Just Begun" (among other) at karoake on Wednesday nights. It's too weird, a big, Black dude pickin' AM Gold songs. Old White dudes look at me odd, but give me props in the end. When I tell 'em I'm a record collector, then they get it. So, I'm not only a fan, I can sang those joints too.
Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak
