ending auctions early (on some bullshit related)

I'd been eyeing this record, in fact I I put a soft bid on it ($50) knowing it would go higher just to take a stab at the reserve, which it didnt meet. Just to let the seller know I was interested. Went to check the auction today, it was supposed to end later today only to find that the auction had ended early. At first I figured it was 'cause they thought they werent going to make what they wanted on it, so I contacted them told 'em blah blah blah Id pay them for the record in the auction they called off, what do you want for it? and they were like "sorry we ended the auction early because someone contacted us with an offer"WTF?Do any of you subscribe to this method of ebay selling?ever happen to anybody else?Do you make offers to sellers to cancel auctions and just sell you the record?Please to refer you to my recent want post if your wondering what the record was.Sorry to be so asshurt...

    I will accept offers on stuff, but I think I've only taken it once... when someone offered me a ridiculous amount for a semi-common record. Its fun to hear peoples bullshit offers and shoot em down.

    I do it all the time. Usually when someone offers me mad loot for a recod I was gonna throw out or I would be happy to get twent bucks for.

    Case in point:

    $100 for Enoch Light - Brass Menagerie

    and more recently

    $400 for this Philly hip hop record that I thought was terrible.

    i've ended one early for a pretty high end tribe 45.

    got a ridiculous offer.

    i only would end them though if no one had bid on them. otherwise i think that's fucked up.
