Do you even own a Mc Lyte or Queen Latifah record?
I do! I think only one of each? Lady's First 12" and the Lyte as a Rock LP
not for nothing, i'm suprised.
my two cents:
MC Lyte straight up and down as the dopest female rapper.
Current[/b] is the point in question here. Fans of both of them, but if Lady's First was a new song and came on the radio today, I'd switch looking for Sugar Walls.
oh yeah I just heard Yo Yo[/b] is working on a new album, I'm kinda interested in what that's gonna sound like.
"Bonnie and Clyde Theme" with her and Cube was one of the dopest male/female collabo songs to me.
Damn, that's crazy. I still rock the shit out of "Ain't Nobody Better" to this day. That's a no-brainer party track, and Yo-Yo does a great job riding the beat.
medusa has been dropping what is for her a ton oh shit lately.
what has she done lately outside of a few guest spots/cameos/comps? i think she's a good enough emcee to warrant an official album release, you know, not just mixtapes/random tour only cds/feline science type shit.
and that's what i'm saying about all these rappers. half of them have breakdowns (lauryn, foxy) and put themselves in a position where they go for years without putting out a record and the other half just don't get labels support to put albums out and their names are only in peoples mouths cause of who they associate (medusa, digga). it's all well and good to call mc lyte the best female of all time (and i agree), but competition has been almost nonexistant.

Which brings about the philosophical question:
If an MC never enjoys a "proper" album release, does she even exist?
Point being, even if Medusa never releases another single, let alone a nationally distributed album, she is still one of the tightest female MC's to ever bring it.
She did serve Eminem at the 97 Rap Sheet Olympics. That's gotta be worth something....LOL. In fact I was watching some lame Eminem biography on the E Network a few weeks back and they actually mentioned him losing at that battle. I was like...damn, please also mention WHO he lost to.
At any rate I've seen Medusa perform as recently as a few months back and needless to say, she's still got it.
I agree with Day. GOAT goes to MC Lyte and Roxanne Shante. I do also like good old Sha Roock, but she didn't have the amount of material that those two ladies had (not that they had a ton or anything).
Comments
Look, I really like that song
OH SNAP!
oh and all this talk of "femcees" reminds me that ANYONE WHO HAS A SPARE COPY OF "Wrath of my madness" 12'' plaese to send to The Yay Area [/b]

That and "I'm Not Havin It" with Lyte and Positive K
Who did the female lines on "I Got A Man" by Positive K? I still like that shit.
"Are you a chef? Cuz you keep feedin' me soup!"
Damn, that's crazy. I still rock the shit out of "Ain't Nobody Better" to this day. That's a no-brainer party track, and Yo-Yo does a great job riding the beat.
Positive K did the girl raps.
There can be no argument.
I think HE did...that just sounds too much like a guy doing an annoying girl voice. I dunno though
I did say "Straight up and down". You should open every court arguement with "Not for nothing" and end it with "Straight up and down"
You'll soooooooooooo make partner.
agreed. but Rage is right up there with her
I'm eatin' cake with Chad, yo!
F16, can't you see we are seriously trying to discuss rackords here?
Hip Hop Congress is NOW IN SESSION[/b]

Chuck D tested, Professor Griff approved.
