Has anyone ever tried this before? Purposely adding a tiny scratch to a record to keep it from skipping on a pre-existing scratch??? I just tried it for the first time and it worked for me. The original scratch pushed the needle back out a track and I just took and a razor and made a tiny indention on the spot where the scratch started.

Yeah, old trick, works sometimes. Also can be achieved by setting your stylus to a heavy tracking force & cueing the record back & forth over the scratch.
