    I usually start with the hot and sour soup
    it's a black pepper/cabbage/wheat gluten /tofu affair
    quite spicy and firey!!
    you can still see bits of the black pepper and the stock is quite thick without being gelatenous.

    There's a place on the Upper East Side (Iggy's Bar) that's kind of fun, but very white. You could always go somewhere in K-Town, but it's very Korean. Choose your poison, I guess.

    You could always go somewhere in K-Town, but it's very Korean.

    there's a few spots in the E. Village (around St Marks)and near NYU to check out (i've hit up a spot called IZU on 13th near University).

    K-town is where its at, its dumb cheap for a room and most places are byob. "karaokae on floor 5, massage/spa floor 6!"
