IBAN = International Banking Account Number

Thanks for the reply... but that's the part I did know

I use E-Trade as my bank and did a search for IBAN, but nothing came up. It's not the same number as my checking account, I assume, so how do I get it? Is it a safe thing to give out?

It might also be known as a SWIFT number or an ABA number. Usually you have to call your bank to get that info. If they're trying to send you a wire transfer from overseas just ask your bank for all the info needed to receive an overseas wire transfer.
