Ack! My MPC's shift button is stuck!

I can't get that shizzle unstuck. This ever happen to anyone? What do I do?

    mpc 2000(xl) I take it...

    either your button is broken or stuck and probably durrty.
    Open the fucker up, clean the little palstic switches and reseat them.

    should do the job, otherwise go on mpc-forums.com and check out the mpc2000xl section

    This happened to me and I broke/snapped the button... oddly enough it is now loose and works great and I have been waiting for it to fall of but it hasn't. I have been using it this way for almost 2 years. Hopefully that helped but if your gonna go for it be careful!

    yupp I have 3 broken buttons on my old 2000, they all work fine they are just loose.
    The machine barely sees the light though, I think you can get these plastic buttons for a few cent. golla at vst or somebody like that
