i've got some mid-70s too slick 'funk' stuff on there that i'm not crazy about

the one winner i can think of is sebastian - the vocal take on 'razor blade'

Brown Dog is one of the most under-achieving imprints EVER.
It's as if someone at the label said, "Make sure it's all below-average."

My copy is on Dynamo. Unless there was an earlier (or later) pressing, there is no brown dog on the label. At least not on my copy.

I think "One Eye Open" would have been too early (1968) for Brown Dog, anyway. Aren't they from the mid-70's? That very fact is probably what scared me off of buying their records (1976-77 wasn't exactly a golden era of soul, IMO.)

I don't know the rest of their catalogue but I'm a big fan of this song. It's always gotten good reactions when I've played it out too.
