    my favortie Stanley Turn-it-down LP is "Rough and Tumble" on Blue Note..dont really feel his funk steez.

    I agree, IMO there are better sax players in the funk idiom.......I 'm goin to post a thread on one of them

    My fave Turrentine record is 'Look Out'. I didn't know that he played in Lowell Fulson's band with Ray Charles or that he was the dude who replaced Coltrane in Earl Bostic's band. Crazy.

    I'd have to say "up at mintons". Nice lp featuring Grant Green and Horace Parlan.
