Thank you for posting this. One of the better TV documentaries I have seen in quite some time. Definately worth watching, especially for the part about the prisons.

thought i'd contribute to the boards since i've been lurking for a while. it's a series called "ross kemp on gangs". there's a couple of other episodes too. i lost the original link which had all the episodes but i'm sure with some googling you'll be able to find it. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8266576438139708241 this one is about the nazis in russia. that shit was pretty disturbing.

I'd love for Ross Kemp to come to Jamaica and do a expose on whats happening here.
I see parallels to the situation there and here, difference being the scale on which its occuring(police corruption and murders)and the role that the political partys play downhere.

Everyone needs to see part 4 and see what a over-crowded jailcell looks like, not to mention how the police shot and KILLED the SUBDUED gunman in plain view of the cameras.
This just reminds me of something i saw 2 months ago on the plaza a mile away from my home, the police were forcibly putting a suspect in the car trunk in plain view of everyone, while everyone walked by minding their business.

It amazes me how a post about white frat boys holding pimps and hoes parties can stir up outrage on here, while people being treated in extremely inhumane ways outside the US doesn't even register on here with more than three responses.

    Apathetic 1st world strut.

video google has some more episodes. just watched the one on el salvadors ms 13: http://video.google.com/url?vidurl=http%...9oNPebmS1jtqUOQ the people over there are in a really fukd up hopeless situation. also the goverment actually just piles up the gang members in prisons and let them do their thing inside and just guard it from the outside, doesnt really seem like theyre doing anything to solve the problem.

i saw the footage of the police execution some months ago in another context and if i remember correctly the guy was involved in a bank robbery or something and in the midst of it killed a police officer. watching the way those police just killed him was deeply disturbing...

magnetic: the situation over there in jamaica seems kinda fukd up. its sad to see talent go to waste. i hope the mavado(allience)/vybz kartel thing doesnt really escalate. vybz has been trying to be peaceful in his comments at least from what ive read in some article. is that situation a serious issue there? i read about a couple of shootings..

Yeah i've seen this doc too it's crazy how it expanded out of the US back to El Salvador when they deported the members.

Those youts are "play play gangstas" that should stick to making music.
I haven't been keeping up with whats happening with that situation but it isn't as big as they're making it out to be.

Mavado had a altercation with the police recently where they(police)dragged him into the station and beat him and some of his fingers where almost severed.According to a report i read in the the star(newspaper) www.jamaica-star.com
