i do. the b-side is currently in my myspace player. (tho i need to re-up it, it got a strange wow/flutter effect when uploaded.)http://www.myspace.com/karlophone
That's a very popular font-style this year. I can think of a few more releases with that look.
Didn't TheeMike2600CasualMale from this board do artwork for Stones Throw as well as Melting Pot? I don't know if he did the cover for the ST 10 year anniversary comp, but I know he's behind the Chrome Children Tour poster and that MPM compilation cover.
Olski's is hella funny. DJ Adlib? Devil McDoom? Hmmm...... Doesn't Stones Throw have a couple of artists w/ similar names?
Yes, I am very funny and so are my artists who don't choose their names for themselves. I do this for them, like every label owner does.
You surly know that Devil McDoom is Soul Strut's very own McDee who's music is nothing but a cheap MF Doom rip-off.
DJ Adlib is from Cologne. He has won the German DMC DJ-Championships in 2001, 2002 and 2003 with his crew Noisy Stylus. They also won the German and the European ITF DJ-Championships in 2004 and placed 2nd at the ITF World-Championships in 2004. But I am sure he has nicked his DJ name from Madlib. He is even stealing Madlib's MCs since he has released two 12" this year together with MED.
Same with Mike Davis, another cheap bastard with no talent. When we were working on the cover for our comp, he just took the ST comp and copied it. Even though the ST comp wasn't even out yet.

The MORE MPM SOUND cover and the STONES THROW 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY cover were created completely independently of each other. Jeff Jank and I are just on similar wave lengths I guess. I was *this* close to finished with the design for the MPM comp cover when I actually saw the Stones Throw cover and realized how similarish they look. Oh well. It happens. So and so looks exactly like such and such. This sounds exactly like that.
PS - I had initially sent Olski a rough sketch of how I wanted the cover to look:
Then Olski was like "Let's do it" so I started working on the cleaned up final version:
But he was like "Wait! I like the hand-drawn style better!" ... even though it was my original intention to make it look all cleaned up and vektorized and stuff. So it was back to a more thoroughfied version of the sketch, which ended up being the finished cover.

doood so right. i was thinking the same shit as i was reading, not knocking the clean draft, that looks tight as well, but the hand drawn look is very good.
