I heard this song on the radio today - I think it's called "Am I Too Late" and it sounds like its either Ace Spectrum or Dynamic Superiors or one of those 70's groups. It sounds like its maybe '77??Any ideas?

Sounds like you're describing "Too Late" by Tavares, from '74. Haven't heard it in a long time, so I don't recall any breakdown, but I do remember the hookline (repeated two or three times) being "am I too late...to (???)."
